The use of Lactofiltrum in poisoning
Victims of food poisoning can become adults and children. Even if you very carefully approach the choice of food, there is no absolute guarantee against this disease. What can we say about lovers of exotic cuisine or about those who sometimes suffer from hangover syndrome.
Light food poisoning, as a rule, is treated at home. To remove intoxication and restore the activity of the intestine help different pharmacy products. One of these rods is the medicine from the group of enterosorbents "Lactofiltrum". When poisoning with poor-quality food, enterosorbents are an integral part of first aid. What are the features of Lactofiltrum, and how to apply it to various types of poisoning?
Description of Lactofiltrum
"Lactofiltrum" from food poisoning is a tablet, packaged in blisters. Still on sale it is possible to meet the preparation "Laktofiltrum ECO". This is a complete analogue of the usual "Lactofiltrum", but it is registered as a food additive (BAD). "Laktofiltrum ECO" is produced in the form of powder, troches and tablets, additional auxiliary substances are added to its composition - flavoring additives, dyes and flavoring agents. The mechanism of action of both drugs is exactly the same, but the dosage will differ, since they have different shapes.
The active substance "Lactofiltrum" is hydrolyzed lignin and lactulose.
- Lignin is a derivative of cellulose derived from wood. Due to its fibrous structure, the substance as a sponge absorbs various low-molecular compounds - poisons and toxins. Lignin is responsible for the enterosorbent effect of the drug.
- Lactulose - a substance from the group of prebiotics, obtained synthetically. Prebiotics promote the proliferation of beneficial microflora, creating favorable conditions for it in the intestine.
How does Lactofiltrum work?
What determines the high therapeutic effect of Lactofiltrum in poisoning? First of all, it should be stressed that this is a complex drug that has a multifaceted effect on the body:
- hypolipidemic (lowers cholesterol in the blood).
Getting into the intestines, lignin binds on its surface poisons and toxins, harmful metabolic products. Thus, the food masses and the contents of the large intestine are cleared. Also, toxins released by the body with bile and intestinal juices are removed. Lignin is an inert substance with a large molecule size and is not able to be absorbed into the blood. After 24 hours he leaves the intestine along with the calves, taking with them harmful substances.
The adsorptive capacity of lignin is estimated to be 5-7 times higher than that of activated carbon.
"Lactofiltrum" connects the following types of toxins:
- organic poisons;
- compounds of heavy metals;
- toxins of microbial origin;
- pathogenic microorganisms;
- alcohol and its metabolites;
- food allergens;
Removal of toxic substances from the intestine stops diarrhea and prevents intoxication of the body, the development of toxic hepatitis and acute nephritis in poisoning. Lignin has no effect on the composition of the intestinal microflora.
Lactulose, in turn, promotes the proliferation of useful microflora. Getting into the thick part of the intestine, it breaks up into two molecules of a monosaccharide, which is a nutrient medium for intestinal bacteria. Thus, dysbiosis is cured. Organic acids produced by normal microflora have a harmful effect on pathogenic bacteria, which are always actively propagating in food poisoning. Thanks to the beneficial microflora, the stool is normalized and the absorption of nutrients from the intestine is restored. All this has a positive effect on the function of local immunity.
How to apply Lactofiltrum in poisoning
The drug is used for many disorders of the digestive system - inflammation of the intestine, swelling, dysbacteriosis, food allergies, propensity to constipation or diarrhea, in the treatment of liver, kidney, urticaria and dermatitis. Let's consider in detail how to take Lactofiltrum in poisoning.
The drug is indicated for food poisoning, as well as in all cases when the toxin entered the stomach (poisoning through the mouth). In the event that intoxication has occurred by inhaling poisonous fumes or by ingesting toxins on the skin - Lactofiltrum will not help.
Tablets are taken orally, with a glass of plain water. Before taking the pill it is recommended to crush. This can be done in a spoon or just chew it in your mouth.
It is best to drink "Lactofiltrum" 1.5-2 hours after eating. Like all enterosorbents, the drug is taken so that there is a break between it and other drugs for at least 1 hour. Otherwise, it will weaken the effect of other drugs.
The dosage of "Lactofiltrum" during the poisoning is as follows. Single dose is 2-3 tablets, take them three to four times a day. In acute poisoning, the dosage is increased. The maximum daily dose is 50 tablets, they are divided into three to four receptions at regular intervals, observing hourly breaks with other medicines.
How many days do you drink Lactofiltrum for poisoning? Most often, "Lactofiltrum" is taken until the symptoms disappear - diarrhea, bloating, discomfort in the stomach. Usually this period ranges from three to five days. In total, the course of treatment can last up to three weeks, then you need to take a break for a month. In case of prolonged use, vitamin complexes containing vitamin B are additionally drunk.
The use of "Lactofiltrum" for alcohol poisoning
In case of alcohol poisoning, Lactofiltrum removes excess ethyl alcohol from the stomach and intestines and neutralizes the ethanol decomposition products released into the lumen of the intestine. The difference between the drug and other sorbents is that after a hangover, Lactofiltrum restores the disturbed intestinal microflora and normalizes the stool.
"Laktofiltrum" for alcohol poisoning is taken in elevated dosages - from 5 to 10 tablets per one dose. It is recommended to drink five tablets after the feast and five more - before bed. In the morning it is desirable to empty the intestines and take another five tablets "Lactofiltrum". Reception of the drug can be combined with other drugs from hangover syndrome ("Alcoselzer", etc.), but you need to maintain an hour interval between them.
To prevent a hangover, before a feast drink 3-5 tablets "Laktofilterm" and the same - after the libation.
How to use Lactofiltrum in children with poisoning
"Lactofiltrum" for poisoning in children is used widely enough, since it has virtually no contraindications, and the prebiotic entering into it normalizes the work of the intestine. The drug has a neutral taste and does not have to persuade the kid to drink it for a long time. In addition, many parents note the effectiveness of the drug for allergic rashes in infants.
"Lactofiltrum" in case of poisoning in a child is applied according to age (for one reception):
- at the age of one year - half a tablet;
- up to 3 years - half or whole tablet;
- from 4 to 7 years - one tablet;
- from 7 to 12 years - one or two tablets.
Children over the age of 12 years are prescribed a drug in adult dosage and with the same course of treatment as in adults - three to five times a day for several days, and if necessary, up to three weeks.
In conclusion, we repeat that "Lactofiltrum" in food poisoning combines the properties of two drugs - enterosorbent and prebiotic. The first removes toxic substances from the intestine, and the second promotes the reproduction of normal microflora and suppresses the growth of pathogenic microbes. Take "Lactofiltrum" for 10-20 tablets a day, breaking into three or four receptions. The course of treatment depends on the duration of the symptoms and usually ranges from three to five days.
